 The traditional pattern of Mortar and Pestle is inspired by the centuries-old rice growing culture in the world-famous Banaue rice terraces. Mortar and Pestle made of wood are basic tools for making rice to separate the grain from the hull. The pattern of the Caneo tribe of the mountain province is called "Kinan-ew".
 
 The traditional colors are red and green, which the indigenous peoples obtain from plants and flowers to produce natural dyes for the spool threads used for weaving. The blue color is a modern version.
