Salus Vita Compassion Backpack "Atlantic" named after the Atlantic forest in Brazil. The Atlantic Forest stretches from northeast Brazil, south along the Brazilian Atlantic coast and inland to northeast Argentina and eastern Paraguay. Although only a small portion of the original forests remain, it is still one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world after the Amazon.
Around 20,000 plant species live in the forest. Around 450 tree species were found on just one hectare.
Agricultural developments, namely the creation of soybean fields like the one shown, as well as deforestation for the production of wood, sugar cane, coffee and cattle, have resulted in severe habitat loss. Today only 7% of the Brazilian Atlantic forest still exists, which puts many endemic species in danger of extinction.
With our Salus Vita backpacks, we want to raise awareness of the conservation of our rainforests and the saving of the species endemic in them.
