Salus Vita Compassion Backpack "Valdivian" is named after the Valdivian forests. The Valdivian forests are celebrated for their sheer numbers of native species and animals (over 90% of the species are endemic). Rapid deforestation - especially for logging and firewood - is endangering this green and diverse habitat.
The priority protective measures for the next decade will be: 1) Protecting the most degraded habitats in the north from further extraction and destruction; 2) conservation and restoration of the habitats of rivers and lakes in the ecoregion; and 3) define deforestation and sustainable forest harvesting measures.
With our Salus Vita backpacks, we want to raise awareness of the conservation of our rainforests and the saving of the species endemic in them.
