In the mountainous Cordillera Region live indigenous groups with a beautiful weaving tradition. Each ethnic group has a distinct weaving pattern containing symbols that relate to their traditional way of life. In this collection, we feature weaving patterns from 2 tribes, the Caneo Tribe and the Paracelis-Gaddang Tribe. The fabric is produced by Easter Weaving, a modern weaving facility in Baguio but still using traditional wooden handloom.

Using authentic ethnic handwoven fabric in DeCarbonize Sneakers is our way of acknowledging the importance of working with nature, the way the indigenous peoples have lived before the onset of industrialization.
